King On Trial

Nobody likes being accused of something they didn't do. It's degrading, embarrassing, even frustrating. I have five younger siblings and when they get into arguments about who hurt who and how it happened peace flees from my house like a bat outta hell, and as adults we really don't act very much differently.
What is it about our human nature that we get so defensive and scared when we're put on the stand for something that we didn't do? So often we act like we're too good to be accused of anything, whether we did it or not. How much better would things work out for us in those situations if we stopped behaving so proudly? We'd be a lot more calm, I think, knowing that everything would work out alright.
What really blows my mind is that from the very first sin committed in the universe God has been on the stand. When Lucifer got proud so very long ago he accused God of being too proud to share His glory with anybody. God didn't get upset like a child and have a screaming fight with satan over who was right or wrong, but he addressed the accusation in a courtroom manner, and He laid out His "exhibit A," being us, and began His defense. The King of kings and the Lord of lords has been on trial for the past 6000 plus years of our existence. God doesn't need to respond to anybody's accusation, especially satan! He created all of us in the first place, nobody would accuse Him of not being righteous if He just snapped His finger and caused Lucifer to have never existed before. For whatever reason, though, God didn't do that, He has something better in mind. He humbled Himself to be humiliated, first by Lucifer then by men when He died on the cross. Philipians 2:8 absolutely blows my mind, "And being found in appearance as a man, Jesus humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross." How often do we actually ponder that: the unbelievable humility that Christ Jesus showed when He was put on the stand before mere HUMANS?! The creator of the entire universe put to death by men, and He didn't even raise His voice in defense or protest. He was led to the cross like a lamb to the slaughter, just as was prophesied. Think about the implications of GOD behaving in this manner before men, especially in light of the fact that we have trouble ourselves behaving this way before other men.
Let's make sure if we're getting accused of something it has to do with our complete devotion to God. To do that we must do as Paul instructs us and live above reproach and realize that we are not too good to be put on trial, but in fact we are far from being good enough to be mocked for the sake of the name that is above all other names.

Welcome

Hey ya'll! Thanks for checking out my blog site. I'm not exactly sure why I started this, but I guess it seemed like a good idea at the time, and frankly still does. My purpose in doing this is to encourage people to strive to know God better, because despite whatever excuses we could come up with to say we don't have the time at any particular moment the fact is we don't have the time to NOT give God everything that we have to give every single breathing moment. Anyways, I'll be periodically posting things that God speaks to me that I feel He wants me to share with the whole world.

Oh and I'd love any feedback you have to give me, whether it's improving the technical aspects of mah blawg, or responding to my writing.
